Terminal languages and runtimes

Use the separate coding workspace and check runtime availability before executing a document.

Choose a language

Open Terminal and select the language for the active tab. The runtime manager reports whether the required environment is ready, downloading, unavailable or unsupported. A language option is not proof that every package or system API is available.

Run with limits

Use the execution limit and the existing Run and Stop controls. Interactive programs accept input through the Terminal input interface. Read compiler diagnostics and stderr separately from normal output.

Understand the environment

Browser runtimes are sandboxed and differ from desktop toolchains. Inspect the current runtime status and reported limitations; do not assume native filesystem, networking, package or platform support. Arduino firmware belongs in the IDE.

Keep your work

Tabs and document preferences use the existing local persistence system. Keep an exported backup before clearing browser storage. Syntax themes change text colors while application appearance controls the background.

Keep exploring.
