Start with a sketch
Create a local sketch or import an existing .ino file. Use tabs to move between project files, autocomplete to explore available symbols, and the board selector to match your target hardware. Arduino sketches use setup() for initialization and loop() for repeated work; they are different from a desktop C++ program with main().
Edit, verify, then upload
Choose Verify to check the sketch with the real AVR compiler. Read diagnostics before uploading, and jump from a reported error to the relevant source line. Successful compilation does not confirm that a physical circuit is wired correctly. Check your board selection and connections before using Upload.
Local work with deliberate backups
Circuitera saves local work in browser storage. Your sketches belong to that browser and site origin until you export them or use the available account and cloud features. Private browsing, clearing site data, or switching domains can remove access to local copies. Use sketch or project export for a portable backup.
Work beyond the editor
Serial Monitor and Serial Plotter help you inspect a connected board. The simulator offers a separate way to explore supported circuits. Dot can explain code and diagnostics when its access gate is enabled. For ordinary C++ programs rather than Arduino firmware, use the separate Terminal workspace.
